Born in Surrey, Anna spent her childhood in south east London,
attending Saturday mornings at art classes at Croyden College of
Art whilst at school. She studied art and design at Goldsmiths College,
London and Corsham (Bath Academy of Art), Wiltshire, soon becoming
interested in etching. After moving to Scotland in the autumn of
1977 she became a member of Peacock Printmakers in order to continue
etching.
Influences for her work are taken from the environment and Chinese
and Japanese landscapes. In contrast to her detailed imagery she
will often work with charcoal on a larger scale with the addition
of colour, often using different media as well.
Anna has exhibited in London, Suffolk, Aberdeen, Crathes, Banchory,
Aboyne and Strathpeffer. She has work in many collections in England,
Scotland, Denmark, Australia and elsewhere abroad. She is also a
professional member of the Aberdeen Artists Society, having been
awarded a purchase prize in 2004.
