Born in Dundee in 1942 Brian moved to Aberdeen when he was 9 years old.
He first went to Grays School of Art when he was 15 to study a non diploma design course. After a period of working as a display artist, graphic designer and exhibition designer he returned to Grays to specialise in drawing and painting and gained a D.A.
Brian taught art in Hazelhead and Aboyne Academies before becoming a full time artist in 1997.

Brian was the founder of the annual exhibition 'Brian Hart and Friends' in the Victory Hall Aboyne. He exhibited extensively throughout Scotland, culminating in his most stunning body of works 'Illuminatus' at the Marischal Galllery in Aberdeen. His works include landscape, figurative, abstract and symbolic.
