Born in a Lancashire mill town she aspired to become an artist from an early age but, as often happens, life had other ideas! She spent many years in Far East and Europe where she mastered the techniques of Batik and Painting on silk. She developed many other craft skills but it wasn’t until she moved to Deeside that she concentrated on her love of watercolour, attending a non-vocational class at Grays School of Art. Dissatisfied with her progress she looked around for an artist that she admired and found Alison Ewan, and with her teaching and encouragement went on to feel confident enough to exhibit her work. She has since, developed her style (eclectic) and moves between the mediums allowing the subject to dictate the journey. She has exhibited locally and abroad, also winning a number of awards with her work. Over the years she won various prizes in the Kincardine & Deeside Art Competition. Working as manager of the Milton Art Gallery, Crathes, leaves her little time to pursue her hobby, but feeds her inspiration.
