Anna Sedgwick

I was born in Carshalton, Surrey and spent my childhood in SE London, attending Saturday morning art classes at Croydon College of Art whilst still at school.  My Foundation course was at Goldsmiths College, London where I was introduced to etching.  Following my time there I spent 3 years at Corsham (Bath Academy of Art).  After moving to NE Scotland in the autumn of 1977, I became a member of Peacock Printmakers (now Peacock Visual Arts) in order to continue etching.

My work now is mostly based on printmaking, although I paint as well and the majority of my prints are mono prints.  I have been a member of the Aberdeen Artists society for a good number of years, where I was awarded 2 purchase prizes.   I have been on the committee of artaboyne from it's beginning, going back to exhibiting again after a break with Brian Hart and friends at the Victory Hall.  As well as Aboyne I have exhibited in London, Suffolk, Lincoln, Aberdeen, Strathpeffer, Edinburgh, Crathes, Banchory and Ballater. I have work in many collections in England, Scotland, Denmark and various other countries.  The most recent exhibition of my work was as Artist of the month in December 2019 at Tangletree in Aboyne.
