'Unity' Ashley Brammer
A marrying of the ancient and modern, this piece is an intriguing combination of Celtic knotwork and mathematics. 'Unity' is both a Celtic Triquetra and a Mobius Strip, as such this ancient and complex three dimensional form has only one surface and one edge, something which requires the viewer to trace round the whole piece to believe. Kiln cast in a single piece of aqua blue glass, 'Unity' is mounted on a forged steel and copper fork set in a Scottish Elm base.
